Go to http://benefits.ides.illinois.gov/ for login to filing a unemployment claim. If you want to login or sign up at www.ides.state.il.us. please follow my instruction how to sign up for unemployment in Illinois. you will need Snames, Social Security numbers and dates of birth, employer information, including mailing address, dates of employment and dates of service for all recent employers, Latest payroll stub or W2 and Alien registration card etc.

To filing claim;
Firstly go to http://benefits.ides.illinois.gov/ and enter your user name and password. and click Continue.
Next steps you will need to enter your first, middle and last name. You will need to enter your name as it appears on your social security card. Then enter your date of birth and your social security number. Next, enter your driver's license number or the identification card number. Then, select the state you live in and click Continue. Next steps set up a username and password to use with the online system. Then click Continue. The next page will ask about your marital status and if you are claiming any dependents. If you are claiming any dependents, you must provide their names and social security numbers.

Click Continue and enter your employment history. This information requires that most recent employers name, address and dates employed. You need to enter any employers back 18 months. After you enter all the information, click Continue. Enter any income you made for the week you are claiming. This is important for starting the claim. There is also a section for any pensions or social security benefits you may receive during this period. Continue answering the questions until you reach the end of the application process. And finally click File a Claim.

Go to www.ides.state.il.us/debit_card/default.asp for receving Unemployment insurance (UI) benefits. Have you been receiving your payments through direct deposit or have you applied for it? Then do not be surprised in case you are issued a debit card. Unemployment insurance benefits are issued through a debit card since November 1, 2008, although direct deposit to your savings or checking account is still on.

Check out the details on the new electronic payment options available to you. Apart from receiving a payment by direct deposit into your account, now you can get paid through a debit card. Know how you can file for extension. Did you know that emergency unemployment compensation (EUC) benefits for Illinois have been increased from 13 weeks to 33 weeks.

Go to www.ides.state.il.us for certify your benefits application. If you certify online select "Job Seekers/Claimants" from the left side of the IDES website. Click "Certifying Your Claim for Unemployment Benefits" and the "Certify Online Now" button. If you want to certify by phone, call Tele-Serve at 1-888-337-7234 from 5:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on your designated day (Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday).

Fill your unemployment benfits claim. The weeks of claims are also called certification. You have to do it every two weeks by phone or by using the online system. You have to report on your call day which you will receive from IDES. if you failed to do it on the call day you have to certify on friday or thursday of the same week. You will not be paid for the first week after the initial claim.
