Lately google did something to their ranking algorithm, the reason cited is that google wanted to provide more relevant results, according to their official blog, this change impacts 11.8% organic search results, in plain English, almost 12% of google search results are useless or of low quality. The update was initiated more than a year ago, maybe that’s why some of my ranks dropped out of first 10 pages, the good thing is that those keywords promoted by content rich links are not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it’s safe to say that old way of link building is doomed.
What is old way of link building any way? There are a lot of SEO company out there are doing this, they put your links on websites which only exist for holding links, the content on those sites will never be updated, it’s safe to assume all of them are trash, we call these sites link spamming sites. New google algorithm most likely will punish these link spammers, the links on those spamming sites won’t work anymore.
Maybe a few examples will make it clear. It was quite some time ago, I started with this keyword, slip hook, at that time almost every body was doing plain linking campaign, almost all the sites I got link from had too many links, worst yet, those sites had no content at all. In the beginning, the ranking of the keyword in question rise pretty fast, finally the rank improved a lot, the party was over when google updated it’s algorithm. Here is another keyword, chain pullers, we promoted this keyword with articles and blog posts, with very few plain links, now we have really good ranking for this keyword. So contextual link wins this time, what about future? It all boils down to content, when you create unique and quality content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. It’s never too late to build good blogs for business purpose, such as this interesting blog, baby strollers , I didn’t put too much effort into it from start, but I never stopped posting, now it can even rank the highly competitive keywords. As far as SEO concerned, creating quality content and blog marketing is what we have to do to get great result. Say you’re building your own bogging network, something like Grade 80 Chains, then it will be easier to do article marketing.
Remember content is king, you just need to create content, share the content with people, promote your business with the content, your effort will reward you handsomely in the end. Persistence and patience are the keys to success, nothing will automatically improve overnight, be it your business or search rankings, keep writing, publishing, sharing and creating, you will see the day of success. When publisinh articles, I prefer ezine, new article will be indexed within an hour if not minutes, of course your posts on some blogs will be indexed real fast as well, here I am going to show you an article in article directory or on a blog, have a taste of this one, chain come along, good writing, interesting content, indexed and cached, this article is a good example of article marketing.
By the way, the social media is the must have channel for your marketing effort. The Twitter tools is a wordpress plugin, you can install it, sign up for a twitter account and create a new application, configure your twitter tools prpperly, then make sure every new post will post a new tweet, it’s easy and really useful, it’s a big loss if you don’t use this tool.
